Flip your writing intentions for fun

The July Writing Voice exercise

Hello Reader,

We're past the halfway point of 2025 — are you doing the writing you want to do?

Even if your time is constrained with work or family, protests or vacation, you can always find a few moments for journaling and writing voice exercises!

No matter what your summer holds, I hope you'll take a moment to try the fun "voice" exercise for July.

Flip your intentions

Everything we write has an intention behind it. When we flip the intention on its head, something fun can result.

If you enjoy these exercises, consider checking out The Writer's Voice, the source of them all. You can find it in all of the online retailers, including Amazon and Bookshop.org, ask your indie bookstore to order it for you, or buy a PDF directly from me.

Something free: Stop being mean to yourself about productivity

Do you beat yourself up about not getting enough writing done? Then you'll want to listen to this conversation on the Write Anyway podcast. Find it wherever you listen to podcasts, or watch the video on YouTube.
