Writing yoga: Write enticing headlines

Writing Yoga for November, 2024

Hello Reader,

If you're processing the U.S. election results, maybe you should take a break and write. I've got another writing exercise for you that may help you sharpen your skills.

But first...

A thought for the day

If you live in a place that ended Daylight Savings Time this past weekend, how did having that "extra hour" of time feel?

I used it with intention: I spent time reading in bed Sunday morning (which always feels like a luxury) and checked out the coast in the afternoon.

What if we treated one hour every day as a bonus gift? What would you do with yours?

The Writing Yoga: Sparking curiosity

This month, I share a few trade secrets of headline writers—and how we can use them in our own writing.

Look for a wonderful book give-away coming up in two weeks—I'm excited to share this one with you.

Until then, keep reading and writing.

Anne

The March Writing Voice exercise is here! Hello Reader, How are you holding up so far this year, as we enter the mad days of March? Are you writing? Is it helping you deal with uncertainty or connect with others? You may have heard me talk about servant authorship — a cornerstone of my nonfiction book coaching practice.
